Janet weaves four disciplines of nursing, childbirth education, counseling and doula into a supportive web that embraces the birthing family. Forty years ago as a student nurse she recognized the profound effect that birth has on women and their families. Since that time, she has added her experiences as an ICEA certified childbirth educator and DONA doula to her Masters in Christian Psychology to create a special network of skills to assist the birthing woman. Janet says her goal is "for women to achieve a positive birth experience that will be considered a highlight of their life."
I am passionate about working with a mother (and family) during one of the most miraculous events of their life, and that bringing a child into this world is a natural, beautiful moment. I believe that parents should be well-informed about their choices, and my goal is to do all that I can to partner with the parents in bringing forth their ideal birth. I have 4 children of my own and have different birth experiences with each one. I also have attended births at hospitals, birthing centers and home births.

I became interested in being a Doula after the home birth of my first son. I’m the mother of two boys, and I have an overwhelming desire to support mothers who believe their bodies can, should, and will birth naturally, without unnecessary interventions. I live in Central Brevard County - I'm available to go anywhere from north to south Brevard. I encourage moms-to-be to contact me regarding any questions (even if you decide not to utilize my services)!
